Gabriel Dumont's Sacred Gathering Space serves as the heart of a community housing 80 families, offering a sacred fire and intentional seating that fosters connection and creation. This space hosts ceremonies led by Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Survivors, ensuring cultural practices continue in an urban setting. Through sunrise and full moon ceremonies, fire teachings, song gatherings, and seasonal celebrations like solstices, community members honor their ancestors, Mother Earth, and those who have moved into the spirit world. Drumming and gratitude teachings reinforce cultural identity, creating a powerful practice of decolonization. By maintaining traditions and fostering relationships, the space strengthens resilience and serves as a meaningful form of prevention against homelessness and the impacts of colonization.
