New Water Operator OIT Program
An 8-week program that trains First Nations community members to operate and maintain on-territory water treatment plants, starting with an Operator-in-Training licence.
What it is
Launched in 2026 with a first class of ten trainees, the 8-week New Water Operator Training program addresses critical training gaps in First Nation communities with limited access to clean drinking water. It supports training in the proper operation, maintenance, and oversight of water treatment plants located on-territory.
Who it is for
First Nations community members who want to help keep clean, safe water flowing close to home.
Where it leads
